Free AI Mock Interview — Practice Like It's Real
Practice behavioral and role-specific interviews with a free AI interviewer. Get feedback on content, structure, and filler words. No sign-up, no credit card.
The difference between a good interview and a bad one usually isn't intelligence. It's reps. The people who crush behavioral interviews aren't smarter — they've practiced their answers out loud 20+ times. Most people practice zero times, then wonder why they freeze up on question 3.
SignalRoster's free AI mock interview tool gives you unlimited reps. Practice behavioral, situational, and role-specific questions with an AI interviewer that gives you real feedback — content, structure, filler words, the works. No sign-up.
What makes it different
Most "free" mock interview tools give you a list of questions to read. That's not practice — that's a checklist. Ours actually runs the interview like a real one:
- The AI asks one question at a time. You speak (or type) your answer.
- Follow-up questions. Like a real interviewer, the AI probes: "Can you tell me more about the trade-offs?" "What was your specific role in that decision?"
- Feedback after each answer. Scored on content, structure, and delivery.
- A final report at the end of the session with your top three areas to improve.
What you can practice
Behavioral (STAR-format)
- "Tell me about a time you failed."
- "Describe a conflict with a coworker and how you resolved it."
- "Walk me through a project you led from start to finish."
- All scored on whether you used the STAR framework (Situation, Task, Action, Result).
Situational
- "Your team just pushed a bug to production. What do you do in the first 10 minutes?"
- "A stakeholder wants a feature that will break the roadmap. How do you respond?"
Role-specific
- Product management, engineering, sales, marketing, data, design, customer success, finance, operations.
- Each role has its own question bank drawn from actual interview loops at major companies.
Company-specific
- Paste the job description and company name. The AI generates questions commonly asked at that company.
How the feedback works
After each answer, the AI scores four dimensions:
1. Content. Did you actually answer the question? Most bad interview answers drift off-topic.
2. Structure. For behavioral questions, did you use STAR? Was there a clear beginning, middle, and end?
3. Specificity. Did you include names, numbers, dates, tools, outcomes? Vague answers score low.
4. Delivery. Filler words (um, uh, like, you know), pacing, and answer length. The AI counts fillers and flags long tangents.
The goal isn't to be perfect on any single answer. It's to notice patterns — most people have the same 1–2 habits that show up in every answer. Fix those and your interview performance jumps immediately.
A practice routine that actually works
If you have a real interview coming up, here's the prep sequence we recommend:
Day 1 (60 min). Practice 10 standard behavioral questions. Don't worry about quality — just get reps. Review the feedback patterns.
Day 2 (45 min). Pick 5 stories from your work history that you can tell well. Practice mapping each one to 3–4 different behavioral questions. The goal is that every interview question can be answered with one of your 5 well-rehearsed stories.
Day 3 (45 min). Role-specific practice. Use the JD for your real interview. Focus on questions most likely to come up.
Day 4 (30 min). Full mock interview end-to-end, as if it were the real thing.
Day before interview (15 min). Light review. Do not cram. You want to feel fresh, not exhausted.
Total prep time: about 3 hours. This alone puts you ahead of 80% of candidates.
